Mr Hugo Henderson was pleased to attend the recent Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) event focused on the periocular region and the lid-cheek junction – an area widely recognised as one of the most technically challenging in aesthetic medicine and surgery.
The meeting brought together leading physicians, surgeons and dental professionals to discuss the latest clinical approaches, research and innovations in aesthetic treatments for this delicate area of the face.
As part of the educational programme, Mr Henderson was pleased to present on the topic ‘Simple, Safe Blepharoplasty.’ Drawing on more than three decades of his specialist surgical practice, the presentation shared practical insights into achieving safe, natural and effective blepharoplasty outcomes through careful planning, precise surgical technique and a strong focus on patient safety.
The session explored key principles in periocular rejuvenation, including anatomical considerations, minimising complications and preserving natural facial expression while delivering refined aesthetic results. Mr Henderson was also pleased to contribute to the academic discussions by presenting a paper as part of the event’s programme.

The RSM meeting featured a range of presentations examining the aesthetic challenges of the periocular region and lid-cheek junction, alongside advances in anatomy, physiology, psychology and the management of complications in aesthetic medicine and surgery.
